Is the nilgai a horse , an antelope, or a cow?
A farmers in India are having the searious problem because of the name of nilgai. In the language of the region, the word 'nil' means 'blue'. Therefore the name nilgai means 'blue cow' In Hinduism the cow is an important animal that has a high place in the Hindu religion. In fact, Hindus believe that cows are holy. Since the majority of the people in India are Hindu, the cow has become a significant symbol within the Indian culture. However for farmaers, nilgai is an object of hatred because thier important crops are great damages by nilgai.
It is the serious problems for farmers that they can't drive them.
Now , some farmers in Rajasthan wamt to give the nilgai a new name, just as they did in Punjab all those years ago.
