The Last of the CHEJU DIVERS

 This story is about the traditional women divers in Cheju, South Korea.
 The island of Cheju has the natural beauty coast, and that nature is necessary for people living there to make a living. The more you get to know about Cheju, the more fascinated you are with it.  The reason why it's famous for a group of legendary divers called haenyos.  These women dive into the sea every day to look for sea food. It's their job,  and it's difficult and very dangerous work.

  There is a question  why they continue to work as haenyos though their toughness of diving. 
Actually the number of haenyos  get to more few, a  new generation of Cheju women tend to have different jobs at Cheju.

  The answer is... diving is still a big business in Cheju and divers can make a good living doing it. It used to be the  only way the women could get food for their families. They used to have no  other choices which work they have.

  However now, the situation is not the same, the younger women don't have to become divers , there are a variety of  jobs in Cheju.With the changing of time and women' opinions the very old traditional if the haenyo may be dying out. The present haenyos may just be the last of the Cheju women divers.
